Utah Summer Vacation - St. George with the Schacks
Hooray! We've arrived. Our flights went much better than I'd anticipated. Des protested on the seatbelt confinement for a good part of our flight to Wash, DC -- but I was very happy that he had a seat to be confined to! Once I pulled out the stickers he settled down and busied himself in decorating the window and seats in front of him with planets, space shuttles, and space guys.
The flight from DC to Las Vegas started out with a 2 1/2 hour rain delay while we all sat on the plane and waited it out. We again were lucky to score a seat for DJ and after they turned the lights off and started a movie I figured it was time to initiate sleep -- it was by then after 9PM. With his head in my lap and a bottle of milk in his mouth, snuggled up with his fav blanket and Elmo doll he was out in 10minutes and didn't wake will we were deboarding in Las Vegas. Whew!! I have to credit a little dose of childrens Benadryl to his nice sound sleep. ;)
Holly and Zack, our angels, were waiting for us! It was almost 2am! We didn't reach St. George, our first stop on our vacation, till about 5AM. Desi's Aunt Holly has quickly become one of his favorite people and it wasn't long before he was saying her name and had her laughing at his antics. Holly has such happy energy and Desi loves that about her. We all do!
Des loves her car and hasn't experienced any car sickness (Holly took extreme measures in lining her back seat just in case!) Des says, "Holly's beepbeep." He's seemed quite at home in his carseat and in the car, which has really surprised me.
We've gone swimming and shopping and have had lots and lots of Mexican food.
