Hooray! Nates back from his multi-continental journeys and wastes no time in settling in to watch Sesame Street with his baby. ahhh...

Desi had mixed feelings when he saw his dada early Wednesday morning but within 30minutes they were playing all their old games; Nate received an earfull from a suddenly very verbal 21monthold.

We spent Saturday afternoon in the North section of Central Park, currently my favorite part of the park, walking and feeding the geese and playing in the playground. Later Heidi came, stayed for the night and we all went to church together on Sunday. Des loves it when Auntie Heidi visits. They are so great together. Her visit made him think of his Auntie Holly too as he metioned her a couple of times.

We find out on Tuesday this week about our newbaby -- the anatomy sonogram!!

Our first week back to New York City Vanessa came from Philadelphia to spend with us. She hung out with Desi while I returned to work. They got along famously, he calls her "nanny". V was so fun and gentle with Des and they did quite a bit of walking together, more than I think I'd be able to get him to do. He's taken to stopping and demanding to be picked up when he's out with me. Ugh! My pregnant self can barely take it for longer than a half a block.

Vanessa introduced him to the Harry Potter films and now he asks for them by name... but I've since had to return to them to the library. Opps. They also had a Star Wars viewing marathon -- a genre they both commonly have Nate to thank for as he's responsible for turning them both into junkies at very early ages. Desi now asks for the videos by saying, " watch Darth Vador" and then breathing as he does in the films. He's actually been doing the breathing for a long time -- something his dad taught him to do.

Vanessa had a crazy whirlwind turnaround once she got back to Philadelphia -- she had two days to pack and organize herself before flying off to Utah to attend college!! She's growing up! It's hard to believe I've known her since she was six and that so many things have changed during that time; all seems to be pretty much the same with me in comparison. Love that girl!!

Spending nearly two weeks in lovely Cedar City with G&GSimkins has been so wonderful and relaxing. Receiving visits from friends and family along the way: sleepovers with Auntie Holly, play in the garden with grammy&grampy&mommy, bathtime with the Smith girls, sharing icecreamfloats with auntieJeanie&uncleWally and playing ball with second cousins Mandy and Tony. Fun times!!

Relaxing in Grammy&Grampy's garden. Desi loves the swing and playing fill-the-bucket with the hose then throwing his toys with a splash inside. We love having a backyard to enjoy on any whim. We even go back there barefoot!! Ahhh... we do love NYC but having a backyard/frontyard/sideyard is a nice luxury!!

My best friend Laurie Smith joined us with her girls in Cedar City for a couple of nights at the Boggies and Desi lovedlovedloved having two little girls to play with. Julia is 4 and little sis Vivian is almost 3. It was incredible to watch Desi play wtih them which was entirely different from playing with the kids his age in playgroup and nursery. Great learning for him... though he took to picking on little Vivian :::gurrrr::: wish he had those impulses under control!!

After settling into AuntieJeannies & UncleWallys house Desi pulled out his books for his grampy to take a look. They cozied up on the couch together and read.
